Yoga

"The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.” ― T.K.V. Desikachar

There are so many reasons to start a yoga practice, here are just a few

  • to learn how to breathe properly
  • become more flexible
  • manage their stress
  • be more mindful
  • integrate mind and body
  • find a like minded community
  • relaxation

What drew you to this page? Why do you think yoga might be for you? For thousands of years people have used yoga to create a foundation for a life they love, maybe you can too.

PERSONAL GROWTH

My journey began on my yoga mat. After many years of neglecting (and abusing) my body. I found myself attending group yoga classes. As I began this intimate journey into my body I realised that there were important aspects of my past traumas that needed to be integrated.
This led to a journey of mind and body healing. That allowed me to begin dreaming about creating a life I loved.
Yoga is my own personal healing tool and having seen how nourishing it was to so many of my students. I now use the ancient healing practices of yoga in a therapeutic setting alongside my group yoga classes.
“Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga.” -IAYT definition

YOGA THERAPIST

My focus is mainly on how we can address mental health challenges like anxiety and depression. For example, through yogic practices such as breath work, relaxation and gentle movement. As a way “hacking” the nervous system and empowering my clients to make lasting change to their well-being.
The treatment is practiced most often, one on one, and is an individualised process. Aimed at healing and empowering the client on their health and wellness journey. As well as beautifully complementing any of the mentorship programs. Or as an adjunct to medical or psychological treatments that a patient may need.
Yoga therapy can be a wonderful supportive treatment to patients with cancer, both during and after any radiation or chemotherapy protocols.
To benefit from yoga therapy one does NOT need to be flexible or have practised any yoga in the past. It is a therapy aimed largely at calming the nervous system. Empowering the client wherever they are in their journey.
